Allocutio
Fr. O'Donohue's allocutio began by commenting on the parking difficulties this afternoon, and last evening, too, because the cathedral parking lot is filled to capacity due to the hundreds of catechumens and sponsors participating in the Rite of Election. This is physical evidence of the Holy Spirit at work. Incolae Mariae speaks not only of needed discernment but also of generosity of spirit. Where sanctity is concerned, someone who has received a specially calling from the Holy Spirit cannot be held back. The Holy Spirit calls some to do more. Just as a person who is called to the priesthood or another religious vocation is called, others too can be called for a special task for evangelization. The Legion provides for such a generosity of spirit. Individuals who are able may want to consider opportunities to serve as an Incolae Mariae, and for a whole praesidium to do together on a Sunday or over a couple of days, consider an Exploratio Dominicales. We should be open to the experience.
