Allocutio
Fr. Stephen McGraw gave the Allocutio.
He said it was good to be back at a Regia meeting. Being in the Legion
was a great experience and was an excellent preparation for the
priesthood. There is a renewed emphasis on evangelization. We are to
spread the Gospel to the men and the women of the Third Millennium. The
Pope has said, “Do not be afraid to go out to the streets and
the
public places.” This is not the time to be ashamed of the
Gospel.
We should preach it from the rooftops. We must break out of our comfort
zone to make Christ known. Invite everyone you meet to God’s
banquet. The Legion lives by this. It is our charism. We must bring
about conversion. We should look for a pair in each praesidium to do
door-to-door work or book barrow. This will have an effect on all of
us. There will be a parish evangelization project at the Cathedral on
August 14-15. Both the pastor and the bishop want it. There is a
special grace when you go on this. On one project, a girl prayed that
morning to find the right church. The legionaries came by that
afternoon. On a PPC, the legionaries talked to a woman who buried her
sister that morning. She prayed to her sister for a way that she could
be brought back to the church. The legionaries were at her door that
afternoon.
