These notes are intended to be widely distributed to foster
communication throughout the Regia
Allocutio
Fr. Maher gave the Allocutio.
Tomorrow is the feast of the Immaculate Conception. Mary was honored by
God as a mediatrix. God wishes human cooperation. Mary needed
salvation, but God did it in a different way through prevention. We
received our salvation through the death and resurrection of her son.
Mary was saved but never touched by sin. We are invited to be
cooperators to bring about the work of salvation. As sinners God
chooses us to be special instruments of Our Lady. We recognize
Mary’s constant involvement in the life of Christ. We look at
the
life of Christ through Mary. The rosary honors Mary but we have the
privilege of seeing through the eyes of Mary who saw these events.
Mary’s perspective is unique because of her maternal role.
When
we pray the rosary, we are one with Mary and we can see through the
eyes of Mary.
