Allocutio
Fr. Paul Berghout gave the Allocutio on the topic of Patricians.
Group dynamics in the Patricians meeting make you a better evangelist.
By being there you play an active part. Everyone gets information and
sanctification. The power of the group does not come from the
presenter. The group is a family. You are among friends. The presenter
relinquishes the control of the outcome. All are to be active
participants, and the goal is to speak. If you have a question, you
must also give some sort of answer to the question. There is also a
message in the painful silence. What is the silence saying to you? God
uses the weakest contribution to make something out of it. We can
always learn something. Then we can train someone else by what has been
learned. By going to an event, you become a disciple as those who were
around Jesus became disciples. God will find a way to multiply your
efforts. You will use what you hear. The outcome of the process belongs
to God and his glory.
