Allocutio
Fr. Maher gave the Allocutio.
The monthly reading of the standing instructions should be used as an
examination of conscience. It can show us how well we are
functioning as a praesidium. It re-grounds us. It serves as a monthly
checkup that can show us where we have swerved. The meeting is the
engine of our organization. It should be prompt, regular and efficient.
Reports should be audible, and clear. The reports should move us
through the meeting with purpose. We don’t want to keep the
meeting idle. Substantial work is the essence of the meeting, and our
outreach will bear fruit for Christ and his Mother. Prayers fuel the
engine. The meeting is not in isolation. The Catena is a chain that
links us to all legionaries. Confidentiality is important because we
are focused on a spiritual purpose, which deals with souls. This is a
grounding that gives us nobility. We are working with the precious
children of God. This examination of conscience is a checkup which
reforms and strengthens our praesidium.
